The difference was established in 1975 by Michael Vincent. The business has been through many changes through out its 28 years, but has remained true to its roots. We have always strived for the utmost in quality and selection available. Over the years most of our customers have met us at Art shows, Festivals or Fairs. We have logged many miles and made many a friend along the way.

About our crew
The Difference is a close knit group of Family and some very Long time Friends. Most of us go back as far as 1976, when I started out. All the work is done by Bob (my Dad) Mark (My Brother) George (My right hand and friend), Terry and Mark (very old friends) who were with me in those very early, and I should add scary years, and the Miller family who have added a whole new side to this business and forced me to finally get organized. I have never worked with a better collection of people.

Together we strive to make each piece something that will be treasured for years to come.

Our Policy
Every piece we produce is fully guaranteed against breakage and discoloration.

About Our Process
Each piece starts with an Original coin or Medallion and is hand pierced to remove the background. This releases the design of the piece that we are working on. We then polish the piece to remove the years of use and go on to the Finish process. We are known for the Two Tone work we do, which is a combination of Rhodium and 14 karat gold. We guarantee this finish for life.
Please Note! Some of the pieces we do are reproductions of original coins and Private Mint issue Medallions. Long ago I wanted the Difference to stand out in some way among my peers. After careful thought and a great deal of trial and error, I decided that if we could offer pieces that were otherwise unattainable, we could at least be different in that respect. Many of the pieces we do are very rare, or start as Solid Gold Coins. Some of these pieces have Mintages as low as 1000 coins Minted world wide. These would be impossible to offer in there Original state due to the costs. What we do is an age old Art called Lost Wax Casting. The pieces that we reproduce are still hand pierced in the same way we do the original coins, but we are working a reproduction of that Original coin. In this way we can continue offering you that rare piece you are looking for without disappointing you.

Placing an Order
To make a selection as easy as possible we have set this site up in categories. You can make your selection by Country or Theme. With over 700 pieces we felt this would be the easiest way.

Please note that all the pieces are shown in our most popular finish, which is the two Tone. Many of the pieces we do are available in solid 14 karat gold. If interested please call or E mail us for pricing and availability.
